Public Transportation
Rhodes has two public transportation companies that operate regular bus services across the island. They frequently update their websites with bus schedules, route changes, and other important announcements. Tickets can be purchased online, at kiosks throughout the island, or directly from the bus driver—though buying onboard may cost slightly more. Below, you’ll find their contact details and links for more information.

KTEL – is under the Ministry of Communications control and each region governor. They are managed by elected Board of Directors and operate as every Share Company. Although KTEL companies are private, they are social and public establishments, and the government determines the transportation cost (ticket cost) thus offering exclusive benefits of transportation services.

DES “RODA”– is under the municipality of Rhodes and has the transport exploitation of the Urban area (city of Rhodes), the Peristika area (Koskinou – Kastri – Kallithea – Faliraki to Kastri – Ialyssos – Kremasti – Pastida – Maritsa and Paradisi) and the Intercity Area of the West Rhodes (Damatria, Theologos, Soroni, Dimilia, Eleousa, Archipoli, Platania, Apollo, Fanes, Kalavarda, Madriko, Kritinia, Salakos, Embona, Agios Isidoros, Sianna and Monolithos).
DES “RODA” is the bus company that offers public bus transportation to and from the Airport. Visit their site for more information.
Although public transportation is frequent across the island of Rhodes, taxis are readily available throughout the island. Click here to view the Radio Taxi stations page.
